In the long rec divisions in the Hawkesbury and Myall races, they sit along the GPS Fusion as one of two boats that dominate. TK's seem to have had their day, while a K1 over a long distance race would be hard going. Hope that helps.Mark Sundinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05603692749315592080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7966256462371281922.post-69272661893838271412018-03-05T14:25:32.398+11:002018-03-05T14:25:32.398+11:00Hi Mark, great to read all your tips! I've seen them around a bit but haven't had a chance to try one out yet. Although I can manage a K1 or K2 without falling in (much) I definitely wouldn't trust myself to compete in one! But most important before anything else is get you seating right. I have known some excellent paddlers who have had to pull out due to bad seating. Get comfortable by whatever means. I have cut my seat to pieces and use foam padding with lambs wool. I can finish the race get out and help carry the kayak. I have completed many HCC, Myall and Murray with no seating problems ( enduring the jokes of lounge chair and where's the barbie ).You do what works for you.Double Dragonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16451114606906782527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7966256462371281922.post-80804919245800181212017-08-29T20:05:02.494+10:002017-08-29T20:05:02.494+10:00Note "diluted" electrolyte. Nausea, vomiting, shivers and shakes and a massive headache... AKA... severe dehydration. Learned my lesson...will not make the same mistake this time around.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04519436087190598601noreply@blogger.com
